Rain, potential thunderstorms in the forecast for Monday

Strap in for a return to cold and wet weather this week.

KSTP Meteorologist Nicole Mitchell said rain is expected to start rolling in after midnight and continue throughout Monday with some potential thunderstorms in the area. That rain could linger into Tuesday.

There's a chance of rain on Wednesday, too, and that will be met with some blustery temperatures in the low 30s that could create some snowflakes.

Highs will be in the mid-40s for most of the week, so it looks like that pleasant weekend we had is a thing of the past.
