Expect a hot Thursday in the Twin Cities with more to come.

KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas said a high of 87 degrees is expected Thursday. And there is a 40 percent chance of some spotty thunderstorms as well.

Conditions will be humid, making it feel a lot more like summer.

A high of 88 is expected Friday with again a 40 percent chance of scattered morning thunderstorms, giving way to partly cloudy conditions.

Then highs of 90 are expected both Saturday and Sunday with hazy sunshine.

And Memorial Day is expected to be even warmer, with a high of 91.

It's why the National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for a large number of Minnesota counties, as well as western Wisconsin. The NWS said while this level of heat is expected at times during the summer, the quick transition from cooler weather last month could enhance the risk for heat-related illness.
