Another heat advisory is expected to last Thursday through Friday.

According to the advisory, Anoka, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Chippewa, Dakota, Dunn, Eau Claire, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Pepin, Pierce, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sibley, St. Croix, Steele, Waseca, Washington and Watonwan were expected to be affected by significant heat and humidity from 12 p.m. Thursday until 7 p.m. Friday.

Highs around 90 degrees Thursday and 90 to 95 degrees Friday, combined with dew points in the 70s, were expected to make for heat indices in the 95-105 degree range for both Thursday and Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory stated the high heat indices during the day were expected to lead to an increased risk for heat-related illnesses for those active outdoors or with limited access to air conditioning.

Residents of the counties affected by the advisory should wear light-weight and loose-fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. Those who work outside are advised to take regular breaks in the shade or in air-conditioned areas.
