Updated: December 26, 2019 06:09 AM

Dense fog has decreased visibility for drivers throughout Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin Thursday.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith advised drivers decrease their speeds on affected roads.

Meanwhile, Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said in addition to the dense fog, temperatures at, or just below, freezing created some slick spots throughout the state.

Barlow added the fog will lift as the day progresses and that temperatures will be in the 30s.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for large portion of the state, as well as for parts of Wisconsin.

The alert stated visibility extended only to a quarter of a mile throughout portions of central, east central, south central and southeast Minnesota.
