Metro Transit was working to get trains back on schedule.

According to a Metro Transit spokesperson, northbound and southbound trains were forced to share a single track Wednesday morning between the Cedar Avenue station and the Mall of America as a result of the crack.

Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said the coldest air in 23 years arrived Tuesday night into Wednesday, with wind chills in the minus 50-degree range.
