Cloudy, Cool Monday in the Metro

After sunny and mild weekend weather, the metro area could see some changes this week.

Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said primarily, nighttime temperatures will drop into the 40s, which he said is typical for this time of the year. Afternoon temperatures this week are expected to be in the 50s, Barlow added.

Barlow said Monday will mostly be a dry day, with increasing cloud cover as the day goes on. He said there is a chance of afternoon showers.

Then, Barlow said cool weather is expected through the balance of the workweek. Daytime temperatures will average about 10 degrees below normal this week.

Although Barlow said a mainly dry weekend could be in store for Minnesota, this time of year means weather systems "are very fickle," meaning showers could return by the weekend.
