Drivers were advised to watch out for black ice during their morning commute Monday.
The National Weather Service issued a warning, which expired at 9 a.m. Monday, for dozens of counties.
According to the alert, a decrease in temperatures led to areas of black ice forming on the roads. Drivers were advised to use extra caution, especially when approaching intersections and overpasses.
Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said many neighborhood streets remain icy Monday morning, while highways and interstates were "in decent shape."
Hello Monday! Expect some occasional slick spots out there and many neighborhood streets will still be icy. Hwys and interstates are in decent shape, but as always, take it easy on ramps/bridge decks! https://t.co/wiagwePlXs pic.twitter.com/Vne1i5NyGR
