Wrong-way crash in Northeast Minneapolis leaves 1 driver seriously injured

Three people were hurt and one suffered serious injuries from a wrong-way crash in Northeast Minneapolis Wednesday night.

According to Minneapolis Police, the three-vehicle crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. on University Avenue near 27th Street.

The wrong-way vehicle hit a vehicle then spun around and struck another vehicle.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was seriously injured. Two other people were also injured injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the wrong-way driver may have been chemically impaired.
