A Wisconsin man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Stearns County over the weekend.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said it was notified of the crash at about 2:58 p.m. Saturday.

The sheriff's office said 51-year-old Matthew Butzer, of Amery, Wisconsin, was driving his 2013 Ford F-150 truck east on County Road 75 when he lost control and swerved into the south ditch. His truck then hit a field approach, sending it airborne.

Authorities said Butzer was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Initial investigation indicates he was reaching for food that fell had fallen onto the seat and floor, the sheriff's office said, and alcohol also appears to be a factor. He was the only person in the vehicle.
