According to the Shakopee Fire Department, roughly five cars derailed and the incident affected one intersection in the area.

Officials said the cars were not carrying any hazardous materials and no one was hurt.

A spokesperson for Union Pacific said soybean meal was the only material spilled in the incident.

The spokesperson also said cranes were being used to put cars back on the tracks, and that the track will need to be repaired and inspected.

The hope was that it could reopen by Thursday night. Other trains were being re-routed.
