A stretch of Highway 100 is closing for Labor Day weekend to accommodate work on the Southwest Light Rail project.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Highway 100 will shut down between Highway 62 and Highway 7 from 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, to 5 a.m. Sept. 8.

The ramp from Interstate 494 west to Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie will be closed through Nov. 10 for the light rail project.

Before the weekend comes, there will be closures on Interstate 394 while crews repair the Dunwoody Bridge. The section of I-394 east from Highway 100 to Interstate 94 will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, and from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. The HOV lane will be open as a detour.

The westbound lanes of that stretch of I-394 will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. on Sept. 11, 16 and 18. The HOV lane will be open as a detour.

Other upcoming ramp closures and lane reductions around the metro:

  • The ramp from Fifth Avenue to I-94 east will be closed from Sept. 8 to Nov. 8.
  • The ramp from University Avenue to I-35W south will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
  • The ramp from I-94 west to Cedar/Riverside Avenues is closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday.
  • The ramp from Riverside Avenue to I-94 east is closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday.
  • I-94 west will be reduced to two lanes from 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. and down to one lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday between Riverside and Franklin avenues.
