In a span of just six hours, the Minnesota State Patrol said Wednesday there were 180 crashes on Minnesota roads.

Sixteen crashes involved injuries, but none were considered serious and no deaths were reported. The crashes occurred between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m.


Authorities say 113 vehicles spun out or went off the road during that time.

Layer of snow blankets the south metro

According to the National Weather Service, parts of the state south of the metro saw between 2 and 4 inches of snow by 8 a.m.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said snow and slick conditions were affecting drivers throughout the south metro.
