A section of southbound Interstate 35W in Minneapolis has reopened after it closed early Tuesday morning as the result of a slope failure.
KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said the stretch of interstate affected was between Interstate 94 and 38th Street.
Minnesota Department of Transportation officials said at one point, dirt from the slope was piling up to 3 feet on the road.
Smith said drivers could take I-94 to Interstate 394 to Highway 100 to Highway 62, or take Hiawatha Avenue as detours.
