One man is dead and a woman was extricated and transported to a nearby hospital after a two-vehicle crash late Thursday afternoon in Kandiyohi County.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a report at 3:53 p.m. about a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 127 in Green Lake Township.

Responding deputies said a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 40-year-old New London woman was driving northbound on County Road 9 when she was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Utility Truck driven by a 42-year-old Shakopee man traveling eastbound on County Road 127.

The woman was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Rice Memorial Hospital, according to the release. Her condition at this time is unknown. 

The man was found outside of his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of those involved has not been released. 

The crash is under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
