Slick conditions Monday morning contributed to a crash near Grove City that seriously injured one person and hurt another.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a report of a crash at about 6:54 a.m. on Highway 12, roughly 1.5 miles west of Grove City.


Upon arrival, authorities learned the 25-year-old driver of a Ford Expedition lost control due to icy road conditions, went off the road, and crashed into the treeline. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Willmar Hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

Another passenger was hurt in the crash and five other passengers were uninjured, the sheriff's office reported.

The Grove City Fire Department, Grove City Rescue, and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.
