A Savage police officer said he was OK after his vehicle was hit while he was helping a driver in a stalled vehicle late Monday night.

The incident happened in the area of Highway 13 and Dakota Avenue.

A witness at the scene told a KSTP crew the police officer pulled up to guard the driver and other passengers in the stalled vehicle while they worked to move the stalled vehicle off the highway.

The witness said another vehicle then hit the squad car. It was unclear whether anyone in that vehicle was hurt in the crash.
