Many of you are in for a tough commute this week, with more projects starting on Monday.

Crews have been working along Interstate 94 in the northwest metro for the last week as part of a larger resurfacing project between Clearwater and Maple Grove. Starting Sunday night, the roadway will be down to two lanes between Maple Grove Parkway in Maple Grove and Highway 101 in Rogers. Crews will work Sunday through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to noon the following day into mid-September. The same type of work is already happening overnight on the eastbound side. Lane closures are coming to University Avenue in Minneapolis this week. It's part of a repaving project between Interstate 35W and Huron Boulevard. The work begins Monday and is expected to cause big delays. Bridge inspections will also be taking place nearby along Washington Avenue, complicating an already busy area.

In the north metro, the ramps along I-35 northbound at Highway 97 in Columbus are closing early Wednesday. The ramps will stay shut down until late September. Drivers can use the exit at Broadway Avenue/County Road 2 instead. At the same time, northbound traffic will be shifted to the inside lanes. Expect slowdowns as drivers adjust to the new configuration and maneuver around the ramp closures. Learn more about the project.
