Four people were taken to hospitals after a pursuit ended with a driver crashing into multiple vehicles Friday night.

Officer Anthony Patton with Mendota Heights Police said the Minnesota State Patrol aired a complaint of a blue Ford Mustang with no license plates driving all over the road at about 7:20 p.m. on Interstate 35E exiting onto westbound Highway 62 in Mendota Heights.

Police said an officer spotted the vehicle a short time later and attempted to make a traffic stop near the Hiawatha exit, but the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.

During the pursuit, the suspect hit a SUV, which was pushed into a ditch west of the 34th Avenue exit, and then hit two more vehicles.

Police said the driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, and two juveniles were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the other crashes.

The driver of the Mustang was also taken to the hospital in an unknown condition, but police said he was talking to officers when in the car. Police said he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and hit the windshield of his car during a crash. He was suspected of driving impaired, and taken into custody.
