Authorities said the suspect in a bus stop crash in South Minneapolis Sunday night is in custody.

According to Metro Transit police, the driver plowed through a bus stop at East Lake Street west of Hiawatha Avenue at about 8:30 p.m.

Authorities identified the driver as 40-year-old Michael Boucher, of Minneapolis, and he faces charges of criminal vehicular operation causing bodily harm - under the influence of a controlled substance, and criminal damage to property.

Three people—two pedestrians at the bus stop and a third person—were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Authorities said one taken to HCMC was in critical condition. Authorities said Monday they no longer believe the third person injured was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but additional details are unclear. A spokesperson for Metro Transit said authorities do believe there was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but that person is believed to have fled the scene.

A report from Metro Transit police said Alvin Jamison, 45, suffered major injuries in the crash. Angel Campos, 25, was identified as another victim from the crash. The severity of Campos' injuries weren't listed in the report. The third person injured wasn't identified by name in the report.

A witness submitted video of the aftermath of the crash to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, which shows people attempting to help the victims.

Witnesses at the scene said they heard several large "booms," then saw people who were hurt.

Alejandra Hernandez was one of the witnesses who called 911.  She says the driver was distraught.

"He was like 'Oh my God...I am so sorry!'" she said.

"It was pretty bad.  I was worried people were dead," Hernandez said.

The incident remains under investigation.
