Minnetonka police say they pursued a reckless driver who ultimately crashed into a garage early Friday.

According to the Minnetonka Police Department, an officer observed the driver of a Subaru Forrester swerving and leaving the road on Interstate 394 near County Road 73/Hopkins Crossroad.

The officer attempted to stop the driver but was unsuccessful and the driver continued for five more miles before approaching a dead end on the 8900 block of West 28th Street in St. Louis Park.

At that point, the vehicle struck some large rocks, flipped and crashed into a nearby garage.

The driver - identified as 23-year-old Andrew Shenkowsky of St. Paul - was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, fleeing an officer, driving a stolen vehicle and additional outstanding warrants.

No one was hurt as a result of the crash, authorities said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
