Minneapolis police say one student suffered minor injuries when a pair of school buses collided Tuesday morning.

A department spokesperson said one bus with seven students aboard was traveling westbound on 19th Avenue NE approaching Ulysses Street NE when it was struck by another bus with 20 students aboard that had been traveling south on Ulysses and had been unable to stop.

The impact caused the first bus to spin and hit three other parked vehicles.

A 5-year-old child suffered what was described as a cut to the face. That child's mother was contacted, and after being examined by paramedics, the child continued on to school.

Paramedics were able to check all the students involved, the spokesperson said.
