A brand-new work week is nearly underway, but not without a few road closures.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said they will continue their bridge work and finish up cleaning the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis overnight Monday. As a result, Interstate 94 will be closed in both directions from Interstate 35W to Interstate 394 from 10 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday. The detour will take drivers along I-35W, Highway 62, Highway 100 and I-394.
In the northeast metro, there are two segments along Highway 8 that are closing Monday. First, a stretch near Wyoming and Chisago City will close between Hazel Avenue and Pioneer Road. This short-term closure will wrap up by Saturday. Up ahead, Highway 8 will close on Monday near Taylors Falls. Look for the shutdown between Valley View Lane and the south Interstate Park entrance. Traffic will be detoured to the Osceola Bridge. The work along Highway 8 is related to a larger drainage improvement project. Learn more.
