Rumble strips on a portion of Minnesota Highway 12 were paved over late last year while crews were doing maintenance on the roadway, according to a MnDOT spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the portion of Highway 12 between County Road 90 and the Wright County line was crumbling and needed to be resurfaced to make it through the winter.
During the resurfacing, the rumble trips were partially covered up in the center.
MnDOT has plans to permanently resurface the road in May and June. During the resurfacing, the rumble strips will be restored, according to the spokesperson.
