Citing price and responsiveness, the chair of the Metropolitan Council said she'll recommend the council reject all four construction bids it has received for the Southwest Light Rail Transit project.

Met Council Chair Alene Tchourumoff said the council should look for ways to reduce costs and prepare to reopen the bid invitation process in October, according to an agency release Monday. The bids are for the bulk of the project's construction work including building the tracks, road, bridges, trails, tunnels, stations and other required facilities.
