Man killed in Oak Grove crash

A Minneapolis man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Oak Grove Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The Anoka County Sheriff Office says first responders were called at 8:40 p.m. on the report of a crash on the 4000 block of Viking Boulevard Northwest.

The sheriff’s office said a Toyota Scion was eastbound on Viking Boulevard and was seen swerving before it drifted to the right shoulder and hit an embankment, which caused the vehicle to go airborne. When the vehicle stopped, it was pinned between a number of trees.

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver, only identified as a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office said he was the only occupant of the vehicle during the crash.
