Authorities in Wright County say a 26-year-old Elk River man was arrested Friday morning following a crash in Otsego that left a 62-year-old Anoka woman dead.

A release said the county's communications center received a report of a collision on County Road 39 NE near the intersection of Page Avenue NE around 8:21 a.m.

Initial investigation indicates a vehicle driven by Brandon Pedrys of Elk River was headed east on County Road 39 when it crossed the center line and struck the side mirror of a westbound vehicle. His vehicle then struck the next westbound vehicle head-on.

The driver of that vehicle, Sharon Veiman of Anoka, was pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth vehicle collided with the rear of Veiman's vehicle. A juvenile female passenger in that vehicle was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The release said Pedrys was arrested at the scene and booked into the Wright County Jail.

The matter remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who have information about it, are asked to call the Wright County Sheriff's Department at 763-682-1162.
