Leaf peepers beware: There are still some lane restrictions in place along Interstate 35 in southern Minnesota. There are two projects back-to-back that are slowing folks down. Watch for single-lane work on I-35 near Faribault as well as just south of Owatonna.
MnDOT says the work in Faribault is creating more traffic backups than the construction zone in Owatonna. Drivers can expect the worst of the traffic delays on Friday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. Both projects are set to wrap up in late October.
There's better news if you're heading to north central Minnesota this weekend. Highway 371 reopened earlier this week between Hackensack and Backus. Drivers are now using the newly constructed lanes between the two cities. It sounds like some intermittent lane closures will continue through late October.
