Drivers planning to take eastbound Interstate 94 in Monticello Wednesday should plan for road work forcing traffic down to a single lane.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, lane closures will last from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The closures are needed to complete the Fallon Avenue bridge project, MnDOT officials said. The bridge connects Fallon Avenue to Seventh Street, crossing over I-94.
MnDOT officials said the last time crews introduced lane closures in the area for this project, there was a roughly five-mile back-up.
KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith advised using Highway 10 as an alternate route.
