Lake City firefighter dies in crash; residents asked to switch porch lights to red in his honor

A Lake City firefighter died in the hospital on Tuesday after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The Lake City Fire Department said emergency responders pulled firefighter Clayton Brandt from a vehicle after a crash just after midnight on Tuesday. He was rushed to Mayo Clinic in Lake City before being airlifted to Mayo Clinic St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
