The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports the brakes on the semi caught fire. The driver was able to exit the semi and call 911.

Authorities reopened the left lane and shoulder just after 7 a.m. to allow traffic to move around the semi. The Minnesota State Patrol advised drivers to find alternate routes, as it was expected to take crews four or more hours to clear the scene.
