November 03, 2017 07:56 AM

WATCH 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Morning for the latest traffic updates.

It's the season for deer versus car incidents, KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith says.

One such incident happened on northbound Interstate 694 prior to Highway 36. The vehicle's driver used the right-hand shoulder to pull over.

Two crashes occurred on Highway 169 Friday morning. The first happened on southbound Highway 169 at Medicine Lake Road along the left shoulder, near to the left lane. The second happened on northbound Highway 169, near Pioneer Trail.

Two crashes also occurred on Highway 36 in which vehicles went into the median barrier. Smith reports one crash occurred near Lake Elmo Avenue and the other occurred near Dale Street.

Meanwhile, here are the projects Smith says to pay attention to this weekend and early next week:

  • Shepard Road from Randolph Avenue to Eagle Parkway will close from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Smith recommends taking West 7th Street as a detour.
  • Lane closures will occur along Interstate 94 from Mounds Boulevard to Century Avenue. Ramps from Highway 61 to eastbound I-94 are set to reopen Monday.
