A crash that occurred along eastbound Interstate 494 in Bloomington Friday morning was fatal, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

State patrol said the crash occurred near Highway 77.

A Ford Sport van struck a Subaru Forester while the Forester was stalled in the center lane, state patrol reported.

According to the state patrol, 63-year-old William Thomas O'Malley, who was the driver of the Forester, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the van, identified as 57-year-old Jesus Moises Hernandez, was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Authorities determined alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and both individuals were wearing seatbelts.
