A member of the 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Morning team is leaving us.

Traffic Reporter Josie Smith is stepping away from her traffic duties to spend more time with her family.

She recorded a goodbye message, which you can watch via the video player above, or read below:

Hi everyone, it's Josie here and maybe you've heard that I'm planning to leave KSTP-TV. And I just want to say thank you to the viewers and over the years, I've been here seven years, gotten a lot of great emails from folks, and from just being out in the public people coming up and saying hello. You've always been very kind and believe me, it's appreciated.

I just wanted to explain a little bit why I made a sudden decision to leave the station. Its early hours are pretty tough on most people. And then I have a daughter, who is five, and my son is two and young children, they require a lot of attention and energy and I'm seeing that and seeing how much care they need from me and how much I need for myself as well, so I decided that now is the time.

I want to thank everyone including the Hubbard family that gave me this incredible opportunity. And thank everyone watching from home, and maybe we'll see you again soon.
