Major backups expected along I-94 in northwest metro beginning Sunday night

A resurfacing project will soon be underway along a busy corridor in the northwest metro.

Starting Sunday night, Interstate 94 eastbound between Highway 101 in Rogers and Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove will be reduced to two lanes. The work is part of a larger resurfacing and bridge project between Clearwater and Maple Grove. Drivers will see crews out there nightly (Sunday through Thursday) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The lane closures are expected to clear in mid-September.
