Drivers will encounter more overnight closures along I-35W this week

More road closures are on the schedule for this week along I-35W in south Minneapolis.

The southbound lanes will shut down overnight Monday and Tuesday between I-94 and Highway 62. Look for the closures beginning at 10 p.m. each evening and wrapping up each morning by 5 a.m.

The detour takes motorists to I-94,I-394, Highway 100, and Highway 62. A full closure of I-35W is scheduled between I-94 and Highway 62 this coming weekend June 28-July 1.

Meanwhile, crews will be re-striping Portland Avenue and Park Avenue south of downtown this week. Expect parking and lane restrictions while they work between 18th and 29th Streets. Both routes will return to their previous configuration of two driving lanes and a wider gap between the driving and bicycle lanes. Learn more about the I-35W: Downtown to the Crosstown project.
