A female suspect has been arrested in a high-speed chase that led squad cars through the north metro before coming to a stop on Interstate 35W just south of U.S. 10.

A Ramsey Police sergeant said the chase started around 7 p.m. at Bunker Lake and Sunfish Lake boulevards. A single vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation when the suspect took off.

The suspect was captured on traffic management cameras driving a vehicle with the lights off eastbound on U.S. 10. The vehicle pulled over on an exit ramp into the snow before another vehicle appearing to be a squad car came by and nudged it out. The suspect then drove off again and exited onto southbound I-35W.

Ramsey Police said officers used stop sticks on the vehicle twice. The chase ended once squad cars pitted the vehicle just after 7:15 p.m. near the County Road I interchange of I-35W in Mounds View.

There was a significant traffic backup on southbound I-35W due to the police presence where the suspect was stopped.

The name of the woman who was arrested in connection with the chase has yet to be released.
