One man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Pierce County over the weekend.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at about 2:32 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities said the crash took place at State Highway 35 and County Highway K in Hager City, Wisconsin, within Trenton Township.
Todd Gerhardt, 49, from Hastings, was operating a 2014 GMC Terrain northbound on State Highway 35 near CTH K. Authorities said the Hastings man was rear-ended by another northbound vehicle, described as a 2019 GMC Sierra pick-up driven by 63-year-old Larry Tapager, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin. The news release states after Gerhardt was rear-ended by Tapager, Gerhardt's vehicle entered the north ditch, rolling over multiple times and ultimately striking a power pole before coming to a rest.
The 49-year-old driver was transported from the scene to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing with undetermined injuries. Tapager was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
