The city of Grand Rapids is trying something new to help ensure drivers yield at crosswalks.

The city posted a picture of its new 3D-painted crosswalk at Pokegama Avenue and Ninth Street N.

The caption read, "Please yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. Especially when the crosswalk is elevated! Check out the new 3D crosswalk on Pokegama Avenue and 9th Street North."

The optical illusion is being used in the hopes that it'll help keep pedestrians safe.
