The Blaine Police Department is asking drivers to drive carefully during inclement weather after a fatal crash occurred in Blaine Wednesday night.
According to police, the crash involving a passenger vehicle and a dump truck occurred at about 7 p.m. in the intersection of Aberdeen Street and Highway 242.
Authorities said the 23-year-old female driver of the passenger vehicle was attempting to turn westbound on Highway 242 and was struck by the dump truck, which was traveling westbound on Highway 242.
The 23-year-old was not hurt. She was the vehicle's sole occupant, authorities said.
The 67-year-old male driver of the dump truck - identified Thursday afternoon as Paul Emil Reider of Nowthen - was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities closed part of Main Street as crews worked to clear the scene.
Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
