A 26-year-old died after his SUV hit a light pole in Minneapolis Monday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 94 near Olson Memorial Highway. State patrol reports the driver was heading north when it appeared he lost control of the SUV, swerved and hit the pole.
The driver was not wearing his seatbelt, according to state patrol, and the roads were wet at the time. According to the state patrol, alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
