Drivers will find more ramp, lane closures outside of the metro this weekend

Updated: July 26, 2019 06:38 PM

If you're heading to central Minnesota this weekend, there's a new ramp closure in place in an already busy work zone. Interstate 94 has been down to one lane for weeks between Alexandria and Garfield. The ramp from I-94 eastbound to Highway 27 closed earlier this week. It will reopen by July 30, but in the meantime, you'll need to use the ramp to Highway 114. Traffic on the interstate is sharing the westbound lanes, so expect lanes to be narrowed as you travel through the work zone. The project wraps up in September.

Meanwhile, ramps along I-35 southbound to and from Rush City have reopened. This busy work zone north of the metro is still creating traffic delays each and every weekend. That's because the roadway is down to one lane in each direction thru October.
