One driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Fridley.

A release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said Fridley police officers responded to a report of the collision at the intersection of the East River Road and 42nd Avenue Northeast around 6:40 p.m. Monday.


Upon arrival, the release states, officers found one vehicle still in the intersection and the other in the center ditch.

According to the release, one of the drivers was treated at the scene by officers and paramedics but could not be saved.

No other details have been released. The matter remains under investigation.
