Authorities have identified the 20-year-old driver who reportedly crashed into the side of a Wells Fargo Bank in St. Cloud Thursday just after noon.

According to St. Cloud police, Fadumo Korane Omar, of Waite Park, crashed into the building on the 300 block of 33rd Avenue North, striking an ATM machine, while attempting to park in the bank's lot.


Omar was issued a careless driving citation and was released at the scene. Omar's 18-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

No customers inside the bank were hurt.

The bank is continuing its normal hours of operation, however, the ATM is currently non-operational. Authorities said the nearest Wells Fargo ATM location is located at 200 33rd Avenue South.
