During an extra enforcement DWI campaign, law enforcement officers made more than 1,300 DWI arrests in Minnesota, according to a release from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. 

The extra enforcement campaign took place between Aug. 17 and Sept. 2. A total of 1,369 drivers were arrested with DWI, compared to the 1,370 arrested during 2016's campaign.

DPS said one woman in Alexandria was arrested after driving drunk to the dentist's office with her 3-year-old child. The release said she had a blood alcohol concentration of .23.

Two roommates in Mankato were also arrested for DWI after authorities found them racing each other at 60 mph in a 30 mph zone.
