A 42-year-old man from Crystal was thrown from his snowmobile Thursday and struck by another, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate WDIO-TV reports authorities say Reid Nelson was driving his snowmobile on the Bearskin trail near Highway 73 and Lind Road in Linden Grove Township when the snowmobile caught the outside edge of the trail.

Nelson was thrown from the snowmobile and landed on the trail, when another snowmobile headed toward him struck him.

Nelson was transported to the Cook Hospital with injuries that were considered non-life threatening, WDIO reports. Authorities said he was wearing a helmet at the time.

WDIO reports Bearville First Responders, Cook Area Ambulance Service, and members of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources assisted at the scene.
