The state patrol says a 61-year-old Crystal man was reportedly struck by five different vehicles after he had stopped to tend to his disabled Ford F150 on the shoulder of Highway 169 South in Hopkins early Wednesday morning.
According to the incident report, Richard John Dibble had been traveling south on 169 near Excelsior Boulevard when his Ford struck a bridge and became disabled, facing the wrong way on the right shoulder of the road. He was standing outside his vehicle when a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 43-year-old Julia Catherine Iverson of Fridley, was said to have slid on ice, striking the Ford and Dibble.
Dibble was then launched into the left lane where he was reportedly struck by four unknown vehicles.
He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Road conditions were listed as snowy and icy at the time of the incident.
