1 Killed in Crash on I-35W South in Burnsville

The Minnesota State Patrol says it is investigating a crash that occurred on Interstate 35W South between Burnsville Parkway and Dakota County Road 42 Saturday morning.

According to the incident report, the crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. near Burnsville Parkway. 


The report said a Ford Fusion was southbound on the highway when it went off the road and hit a sound wall. 

The passenger in the vehicle was killed. State Patrol identified the passenger as 19-year-old Kayli Kim Thompson. 

The State Patrol identified the driver as 20-year-old James Robert Lapsley. Lapsley suffered injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
