Commute remains messy after recent snowfall

Updated: December 31, 2019 10:35 AM

The commute for some Minnesotans remains messy after snow made its way through the state Monday, according to KSTP Meteorologist and Traffic Reporter Sam Ryan.

Ryan said snow packed roads and icy conditions continue to slow down drivers in the metro area.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, as of 6:15 a.m., most roads in the metro remain partially covered with snow. Some greater Minnesota roads remain completely covered with snow.

Ryan said MnDOT is actively clearing and treating roadways throughout the state.

Because of the snowfall, snow emergencies were issued for several of metro cities. Cities where the snow emergencies remain in effect include Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Richfield and Robbinsdale.
