Charges Possible Monday after Crash Injured Uber Driver, Passenger

Charges could be filed Monday against a man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that injured an Uber driver and his passenger.

The crash occurred at about 9:25 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Plymouth and Lyndale avenues in Minneapolis.

The Uber driver, 48-year-old Abdishakur Sandiko, remains in critical condition.

Sandiko's passenger, identified as Christopher Patrick, was treated for injuries that were not life threatening.

Forty-two-year-old Emery Winford, who was driving an SUV involved in the crash, was also treated for injuries that were not life threatening. Winford was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation.

Police reported speed, failure to yield and alcohol consumption may have been contributing factors in the crash.
