Authorities are investigating a crash involving a police car and a motorcycle in Pope County.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on July 4 at about 7:27 p.m.

According to the sheriff's office, Starbuck Police Officer Ryan Franks was driving south on Main Street when he saw a traffic violation by a vehicle traveling northbound.

At that time, Franks pulled to the right side of the road and attempted a U-turn with his squad's emergency lights activated, the sheriff's office said. While doing so, he collided with a motorcycle, driven by 60-year-old Dale Uhden, of Alexandria.
